At Coverage Care, we believe that good dementia care goes far beyond meeting physical needs. Meaningful activities play a vital role in supporting emotional wellbeing, maintaining skills, and helping residents living with dementia feel connected, valued, and engaged every day.
With the prolonged heat wave we've been experiencing this summer, staying properly hydrated and nourished has never been more important for our residents. At Coverage Care, we believe summer wellbeing isn't just about beating the heat - it's about making the season enjoyable, sociable, and full of little moments to look forward to, even when the temperatures climb.
June is a special month across Coverage Care’s homes. With brighter days and warmer weather, our teams focus on summer wellbeing, outdoor activities, and community engagement - all essential parts of high quality residential and nursing care.
When a loved one begins to show signs of dementia, it can be an emotional and uncertain time.
Families often tell us they feel overwhelmed, unsure what support is available, and worried about making the right decisions. That’s completely natural - dementia affects everyone differently, and no two journeys are the same.
At Coverage Care, our Shropshire care homes continue to shine with moments of joy, connection and creativity. This spring has highlighted the importance of resident wellbeing, community partnerships, and person centred care across our services.
When someone you love moves into a Coverage Care home, it marks a significant change - not only for them, but for you as well. Families often describe this transition as a mix of relief, worry, sadness, guilt, or even loneliness.
Coverage Care Services is proud to partner with Shropshire Music Service and Vibrant Shropshire to launch Singing for the Brain - a heartfelt, music-led initiative designed to enrich the lives of people living with dementia across our county.
My day begins with a smile and a stack of menus. Distributing them to our residents isn’t just about breakfast choices - it’s the first chance to check in, share a laugh, and set a positive tone for the day. Every three months, I join fellow activity co-ordinators from across Coverage Care homes to share ideas, swap stories, and brainstorm new ways to bring joy to our residents.
At Coverage Care, we believe that care is more than a service—it’s a relationship built on trust, compassion, and dignity.
