Montgomery House in Shrewsbury is a purpose-built, home-from-home offering a range of care services under one roof, designed to provide a welcoming, friendly, and supportive environment.
Should a resident’s needs change, nursing care is available on-site, ensuring continuity in familiar surroundings. Specialised nursing care is provided for those with dementia or requiring palliative care.
Residents are central to developing their own care plans, tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. Montgomery House fosters strong community links and offers a variety of activities, both within the home and in the community.

Montgomery House is a purpose-built home featuring 90 large, modern, and well-equipped bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. The home is maintained to an impeccable standard, offering first-class amenities to ensure residents live as comfortably as possible.
Residents have the freedom to choose how they spend their time, whether it’s in the tranquil gardens, quiet spaces, or engaging in various activities. Our communal areas provide support and opportunities for new friendships, ensuring we meet all our residents’ choices and preferences.

People choose residential care for many reasons, sometimes it can be simply recognising the need for socialisation, activities and emotional security.
Nursing care involves the comprehensive and continuous support provided by nurses and skilled care assistants to our residents who have medical and health needs.
This care includes 24-hour interventions to address various medical conditions, ensuring residents receive the necessary medical attention and emotional support.
Dementia is a syndrome (a group of related symptoms) associated with an ongoing decline of brain functioning. There are many different causes of dementia, and many different types.
Prevalence: Over 944,000 people in the UK, mostly older adults, are affected by Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. (NHS.Gov.Uk)
Care Needs: As dementia progresses, individuals require more care and support, potentially needing to move into full-time or residential care. This decision can be challenging to all involved and should involve early support and planning.
Respite care can come in many forms. What works best will depend on your circumstances and those of the person you care for.
We recognise there are times when a rest is needed and that is where respite can help, a short stay in a care home can support the on- going needs of the carer and the person they care for.
Residents at Montgomery House enjoy three daily meals, including elevenses, and afternoon tea.
Our on-site chef uses locally sourced produce to cater to all dietary needs, ensuring a variety of healthy and delicious options.
