Creating Meaningful Moments Across Our Shropshire Care Homes

At Coverage Care, our Shropshire care homes continue to shine with moments of joy, connection and creativity. This spring has highlighted the importance of resident wellbeing, community partnerships, and person centred care across our services.

Residents at Innage Grange, our welcoming Bridgnorth care home, recently enjoyed a heartwarming “Sit & Read” session with pupils from the local St John’s Primary School. These intergenerational activities support emotional wellbeing, reduce loneliness and help build confidence for both children and older adults. It’s one of many care home activities that bring generations together and strengthen community ties.

Music, Memory and Celebration

Music continues to play a powerful role in supporting older adult wellbeing. Innage Grange residents celebrated residents Peter and Christine’s 30th Pearl Wedding Anniversary - and Peter’s birthday - with a lively morning of singing, dancing and musical instruments led by the wonderful entertainer Debbie Miles. These uplifting moments highlight the value of music therapy and music and dementia support, helping residents connect, reminisce and enjoy shared experiences.

Animal Therapy and Calming Companionship

Across our homes, animal therapy remains a favourite. Residents at Greenfields Care Home in Whitchurch enjoyed a visit from The Exotic Zoo, meeting friendly animals that sparked conversation and curiosity. Meanwhile, Innage Grange in Bridgnorth welcomed a gentle therapy dog visit, offering comfort, calm and emotional connection. These experiences show how animal therapy in care homes can reduce stress and enhance wellbeing.

A Community That Thrives on Togetherness

Whether through reading, music, celebration or animal encounters, these care home events reflect our commitment to creating meaningful, joyful experiences every day. They demonstrate how activities in care homes enrich lives, support emotional wellbeing and strengthen the sense of belonging that defines Coverage Care.

We look forward to sharing more stories that highlight the vibrant communities within our homes and the dedication of our teams who make these moments possible.
