The team at Clickingmad Ltd, a leading Shropshire-based digital agency, recently participated in a dementia awareness training session delivered by Coverage Care Services. This training is part of Clickingmad’s 25 in 25 Acts of Kindness initiative, celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary.
The session, led by experienced care professionals from Coverage Care, aimed to help the Clickingmad team better understand dementia, how it affects individuals and their families, and how best to offer support in a respectful and compassionate way. The training was especially valuable for younger team members, many of whom had never previously visited a care setting. It covered key topics including the different types of dementia, how the condition impacts communication and behaviour, and how to engage with those living with dementia in a meaningful and sensitive manner.
Shaun Carvill, Managing Director of Clickingmad, commented:
“This training was incredibly eye-opening for all of us. As part of our 25 in 25 initiative, we wanted to do more than donate services — we wanted to spend time with people in our community. But before stepping into a care home, we felt it was vital to truly understand what dementia is and how it affects people. Coverage Care delivered an excellent session, and we’re now better equipped to connect with residents in a thoughtful and informed way.”
Clickingmad’s 25 in 25 Acts of Kindness is a year-long campaign celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary. It includes a commitment to donate £75,000 worth of digital services to charities, as well as volunteering and fundraising across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Debbie Price, Chief Executive of Coverage Care Services, added:
“We’re delighted to support Clickingmad in their community efforts. Their willingness to learn and engage with the realities of dementia is commendable, and it’s exactly the kind of awareness that helps create a more understanding and inclusive society.”
Clickingmad’s visit to Coverage Care's Innage Grange Care Home in Bridgnorth is scheduled for later this year, where the team will spend time with residents as part of their wider charitable programme.
