In honour of our 30th anniversary, we are thrilled to recognize our long-serving staff members Paula Jones, Deputy Manager at Stone House, care assistants Nicki Hall and Julie Bance, and resident Doreen Rogers.
Paula Jones began her journey with Coverage Care on March 1st, 2002, initially as a night care assistant. Over the years, she has progressed through various roles, including day care assistant and assistant manager, ultimately becoming Deputy Manager, a position she has held for the past decade. Paula's dedication to excellence is evident in her successful completion of NVQ Level 5, a notable achievement accomplished through two years of hard work, supported by Coverage Care.
Throughout her 23-year service, Paula has witnessed significant transformations at Stone House, including the expansion of the dementia unit and the implementation of advanced training programs. She has played a crucial role in integrating overseas workers into our community and fostering strong relationships with local general practitioners, district nurses, and other external agencies. Paula's pride in Stone House is reflected in the strong bonds she has formed with staff, residents, their families, and the broader Bishops Castle community.
Julie Bance has been with Stone House since 1999 and witnessed the home refurbishment in 2000.
Despite the upheaval, the staff and residents pulled together and overcame the challenges.
Julie drives the mini bus and has taken residents on many trips over the years, always focusing on their needs and preferences. Her dedication to treating residents as part of the community and as individuals is truly commendable.
Nicki Hall joined Stone House in 2000 as a day care assistant and worked full-time for 10 years before switching to part-time to start a family.
Over the last 25 years, she has seen many changes and is especially proud of how everyone pulled together during COVID-19. Nicki enjoys taking residents on trips, knowing how much they appreciate the caring attitude of the staff.
Doreen Rogers has been a resident at Stone House for an incredible 44 years. She has enjoyed many trips in the early days with her friend Fred Hudson and continues to enjoy activities and holidays, always accompanied by dedicated staff members who ensure she gets to and from her destinations safely.
