Coverage Care is proud to announce that Innage Grange Nursing Home in Bridgnorth is participating in the NAMASTE dementia trial.
This innovative project aims to enhance the quality of life for elderly residents and those with advanced dementia by incorporating the Namaste Care approach, which focuses on sensory engagement, comfort, and dignity within a structured care environment.
The NAMASTE model creates a flexible daily schedule of care sessions that may include gentle hand massages, soft music, aromatherapy, and other sensory-focused activities.
Residents enjoy tailored sessions in dedicated quiet rooms that are rich in sensory experiences, featuring soft music and relaxing scents. Families are encouraged to participate by suggesting activities that hold personal significance for their loved ones, such as playing familiar music or using scents that evoke pleasant memories.
Project Aims:
- Provide person-centred care with compassion, dignity, and respect.
- Reduce distress, agitation, and anxiety.
- Increase staff engagement, improving interactions and satisfaction.
- Enhance quality of life in advanced dementia, especially during end-of-life care.
Expected Outcomes:
- Improved patient comfort with less agitation and distress.
- Enhanced staff satisfaction through higher engagement and effectiveness.
- Positive family feedback with reassuring observations about the quality of care.
We are excited to see the positive impact of the NAMASTE Care program on our residents and staff at Innage Grange.
