Coverage Care has published its Annual Review for 2025/2026, reflecting on a landmark year in which the care provider celebrated 30 years of caring for communities across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. As a not-for-profit organisation, any surplus Coverage Care generates is reinvested directly into its homes and the people who live and work in them.
The review shows income rising to £40.9m, with a net surplus of £2.35m. Around 94% of income went directly into service delivery, and occupancy across the ten homes remained strong at 94%. During the year, £2.26m was invested across the estate, including the acquisition of Woodcroft and improvements to outdoor spaces.
Dementia care was a major focus. Following the launch of a new two-year plan to become Shropshire’s leading care provider for people living with dementia, the Bluebell Unit at Greenfields was redeveloped with input from residents and their families. Sensory trolleys are planned for every home in 2026.
Coverage Care also introduced a new operations structure with a Head of Care and two Home Support Officers, launched the Flourish Programme to support staff progression, and welcomed two new Non-Executive Directors, Rakhee Aggarwal and Nigel Harrison. Solar installations at New Fairholme, Greenfields and Lightmoor View continue the organisation’s journey towards Net Zero by 2050.
It’s the people who make Coverage Care what it is, and the review celebrates many of them, including Volunteer of the Year Joyce Griffiths, who has given 32 years to Barclay Gardens, and Chris Fair, who retired after 48 years as maintenance man at Woodcroft.
Chief Executive Debbie Price thanked residents, families, staff and the Board, saying Coverage Care remains committed to providing care that is “respectful, compassionate, and continuously improving.”
