Greenfields Care Home has unveiled its new Quiet Lounge, a cosy, nostalgic space designed with residents’ families for relaxing, reminiscing and spending time with their loved ones.
Residents’ families were involved from the very beginning, helping to shape what the room would be and choosing many of the items within it. Home Manager Jonathan Cook selected the woodland wallpaper that gives the lounge its fresh, peaceful feel.
The room is full of nostalgic touches, including a vintage television, a green dial telephone, an old sewing machine, a tiled fireplace and a china cabinet filled with treasured pieces. Soft purple seating makes it an inviting spot for a chat, and there are games on hand for anyone who fancies a round of Ludo.
Home Manager, Jonathan Cook and the whole Greenfields team would like to thank all the families who shared their ideas and helped bring the Quiet Lounge to life. They hope it will be a place where many happy memories are made.
