On 17 September, Montgomery House Home Manager Rhea Paller was driving home after collecting her young son from nursery when they noticed a mother and her baby being helped by Shropshire Council staff from The Lantern Centre.
Without a second thought, Rhea contacted the team at Montgomery House in Shrewsbury for help. One of our nurses and a shift leader headed straight to the scene to support the mother and her little one.
The mother had suffered a fall, and both she and her baby were injured. With emergency services under high demand, paramedics couldn't attend straight away.
Thanks to brilliant teamwork between the staff at The Lantern Centre and our Montgomery House team, the pair received prompt care and support until the baby's father was able to take them safely to hospital.
We're so pleased to share that, after an overnight stay, both mother and baby were discharged with no major injuries.
A big thank you to Rhea, our nurse and shift leader, and our friends at @The Lantern Centre for stepping in when it mattered most.
It's a real reminder that Coverage Care's values reach far beyond the walls of our homes. We carry them with us wherever we go.
