On 29th September 2026, we said a fond farewell to our Deputy Manager at New Fairholme in Oswestry, Julie Morris, as she retires after a career in care spanning decades.
Julie's journey began in 1977 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Oswestry, where she worked in accounts and ran the payroll.
After a few years she stepped away to raise her family, and in 2000 she returned to care as a care assistant at a nursing home in Oswestry.
Julie then took on a new challenge. In 2006 she began her nursing degree at Bangor University and qualified in 2009.
After a spell at Shrewsbury Hospital, she returned to Meadowbrook, where she first worked with Imelda, now our manager, and gained a wealth of experience.
In 2015 Julie joined Coverage Care as an RGN on Skylark Unit. Three years later, in 2018, she became Deputy Manager at New Fairholme.
Her skill, warmth and dedication have made a real difference to residents, families and colleagues alike.
Now it's time for Julie to put her feet up (well, not quite!).
She'll be enjoying plenty of adventures in the motorhome with her husband Dillian, exploring the valleys and Scotland.
She'll also have more time to ride her horse, Daisy, and to enjoy walks with her beloved cocker spaniel, Dewi.
Julie, thank you for everything. You will be hugely missed, and we wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
