We are thrilled to celebrate two incredible sisters, Linda Powell and Karen Evans, who have dedicated 30 years to Coverage Care Services this May and June at the Cottage Christian home in Newport.
Their commitment and passion have made a significant impact on our community, and we couldn't be prouder!
Linda Powell (Assistant Cook)
Linda joined in May 1995 as a cleaner at Cottage Christian. Over the years, she transitioned to the catering team, becoming a kitchen assistant, then an assistant cook, and finally head cook. Linda loves working at Cottage Christian because it's local to her, and she enjoys the camaraderie with residents and staff, who are mostly local as well. She feels that Coverage Care has been very supportive to her and her colleagues. Although Linda will be retiring this June 2025, she plans to continue working as a kitchen assistant with reduced hours.
Karen Evans (Housekeeping Lead)
Karen joined Cottage Christian in June 1995 as a laundry assistant. She later joined the catering team as a kitchen assistant before returning to the housekeeping team, where she was promoted to Housekeeping Lead. Karen appreciates working at Cottage Christian because it's local to her, and she knows the residents, their families, and her colleagues well. She enjoys the supportive and friendly atmosphere at work. Karen plans to continue working at Cottage Christian for a few more years.
