At Coverage Care, we believe that wellbeing grows in many ways - and sometimes, it starts with a handful of soil and a seed of joy. Gardening isn’t just a hobby for our residents; it’s a powerful way to stay active, feel connected, and rediscover purpose.
Across our 11 homes in Shropshire, outdoor spaces are designed not only for beauty but for engagement. Whether it’s tending to raised beds, planting herbs, or simply enjoying the scent of lavender in the breeze, our residents are finding comfort, stimulation, and community in the garden.
Coverage Care’s, Briarfields home in Belle Vue, Shrewsbury recently had their garden completely re-vamped. Residents were central in planning the garden design themselves and have been hard at work sourcing beautiful plants to make this space even more special. Residents chose the name ‘The Anniversary Garden’ and opened their new garden with a party for family and friends, and celebrated Coverage Care’s 30th anniversary at the same time.
Their new garden now includes:
- A small allotment area where they will grow their own fresh produce.
- A sensory garden filled with vibrant colours, soothing sounds, and lovely smells to engage all the senses.
