Fun day to celebrate Chillcott Gardens anniversary

A supported housing project in Telford will mark its 16th anniversary with a fun day for residents, families and friends on August 20.

Chillcott Gardens in Bridgnorth Road, Madeley, which is run by Coverage Care, opened in 2000 and is now home to 62 people aged over 55 who live independently in individual flats, supported by a range of on site services.

The fun day will include a display of vintage vehicles, along with wartime tunes from singer Chloe-May.

Councillor Paul Watling has volunteered to be placed in the stocks so people can donate money to give him a soaking. Local fire crews and police representatives will also put in an appearance and there will be family games and refreshments on sale.

Popular singer Tom Wenlock will close the event with a live performance. The day will raise money for the residents’ social fund.

Coverage Care Activities Co-ordinator Trina Pooler: “The anniversary is a chance to celebrate the community we have built at Chillcott Gardens over the years and we look forward to welcoming residents, their families and friends to the fun day. There will be lots going on and we are looking forward to a great afternoon of entertainment.”
