JOB DESCRIPTION

Woodcroft

Coverage care is a not for profit organisation with 14 care homes in Shropshire providing EMI, Nursing and Residential facilities. Woodcroft is located in Market Drayton, with 50 rooms operating in 5 small units supporting individuals with or without dementia.

Catering Assistant – 19.5 hours per week

Post Objective: To assist in the provision of a customer orientated, high quality catering service in the establishment and for other service users supplied by the establishment. In accordance with Coverage Care’s Code of Practice and all current relevant legislation

Kitchen Support Worker – hours per week

Post objective: ​To assist in the provision of a customer orientated, high quality catering service in the establishment and for other services users supplied by the establishment. In accordance with Coverage Care's Code of Practice and all current relevant legislation.

Job Description - Summary of Principal Respnsibilities Responsibilities  

1.    To assist in the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments. Tidy up after meals; wash, clean and put away crockery, cutlery and utensils. Clean major items of kitchen machinery as directed.

 

2.    Ensure that kitchen equipment, utensils and working surfaces are in good working order and report any defects to the Catering Manager or appointed person.

 

3.    Attend appropriate training sessions, including obtaining a Foundation Food Hygiene certificate, and attend staff meetings as required by the Manager.

 

4.    Be aware of emergency procedures, report hazards to the Manager and respond to emergencies as appropriate.

 

​5.  Ensure that service user confidentiality & dignity is maintained at all times.

 

​6. Ensure the service provision is anti-discriminatory and culturally sensitive responding to individual needs, with regards to race, religion, culture, language, gender, sexual orientation, age and disability.
