With coronavirus cases continuing to rise across the county and the government itself now considering tougher lockdown restrictions, we have regrettably decided to close all our homes to visitors with immediate effect.
This has been an extremely difficult decision but we’re sure you will agree it is the right one given the challenging circumstances which we continue to face during this terrible pandemic.
We want to reiterate our thanks to families for their continued support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
Since the very start of this crisis, we have had to make some very tough decisions which have impacted on the residents we care for and their families alike and this has not been easy for any of us.
Your continued support however has meant we have been able to do our upmost to keep residents and staff as safe and well as possible against this awful virus.
On a more positive note, we have started to roll-out Covid vaccinations to staff across some of our homes and this programme will continue over the coming weeks.
At this moment in time, we’re unable to say exactly how long it will take until all staff and residents have been vaccinated but with 383 vaccinations booked in over the next 10 days, we are certainly moving in the right direction.
In the meantime, we will keep all measures and guidelines under review and will respond immediately to any further local or national guidance which may be issued and has an impact on the care sector.
As always, I would like to commend our staff for their commitment to the residents and continued support to our homes. They do give everything to try and make each day as special as possible in these difficult times.
Whilst the homes remain closed to visitors, staff will be doing their upmost to make sure residents stay in touch with their families via telephone calls and Skype.
We will also continue to support families who wish to be with their relatives during end-of-life care, or in other exceptional circumstances, by implementing additional infection prevention measures and these will be discussed with families at the appropriate time.
Finally, thank you once again for your support over the last few weeks and for helping us to keep everyone safe.
