Manager at Woodcroft Mrs Alison Gough said: “There is nothing our residents like more than an excuse for a party, so when they heard that the Chinese were celebrating the year of the dragon, there was no stopping them.”The lounge and dining area at Woodcroft was decorated with Chinese streamers and dragons in preparation for the special lunch. But resident Mrs Peggy Elkin drew the line at using chop-sticks saying: “You can eat much more with a fork.”However when the Woodcroft residents heard that the Chinese new year celebrations lasted for two weeks, they decided that was a bit long, especially with Burns Night next on the social calendar.Chief Executive at Coverage Care David Coiull added: “Our residents at Woodcroft have a real sense of community and enjoy a very active programme of social events, making many of the decorations themselves.”
