Linda Jay from Lincoln Grange Nursing home in Telford has won the highly acclaimed Nurse of the Year Award at this year’s Shropshire Care Awards. Over 250 guests joined BBC Radio Shropshire presenter Eric Smith and guest speaker Christine Hamilton to celebrate the ‘unsung’ heroes of our county.
Nurse of the Year Linda Jay who lives on Holyhead road, Wellington said, “The awards ceremony is a fantastic way to acknowledge all the carers that work so hard in our county, the evening is a fantastic morale booster for everyone involved. I still can’t believe that I have received such an accolade, thank you very much to everyone that nominated me.” Sponsor Clive Rooker from ARJO said,” A huge congratulations to Linda, the Shropshire Care Awards really does set the standard for care in Shropshire, making everyone realise what amazing carers, managers and nurses that you have in the county.
