Coverage Care Services Limited, is delighted to announce work is on schedule, despite the adverse weather, on the  £6.5 million development of a new 75 bed care home at Liverpool Road Whitchurch, after securing funding from The Royal Bank of Scotland’s (“RBS”) specialist healthcare team.

When it opens in July 2010, the new care home, which has been named Greenfields, will create 100 new full time equivalent positions and have 75 individual en-suite bedrooms with the latest facilities to support older people who require nursing care and may have special needs arising from Dementia.

The new care home will have a domestic ambience, enhanced by the building façade which is designed to blend-in with the surrounding residential stock, by dividing the two storey building into smaller domestic sized modules, using different roof lines, gables and dormer windows to create a complimentary street scene.

The design has 4 residential wings with a central communal area, private courtyard, landscaping and dedicated car parking for staff and visitors. Work is progressing well on the Liverpool Road site and RBS Healthcare Relationship Manager for Shropshire, Steve Shaw, was given the opportunity to visit the site recently with Chief Executive and Financial Director of Coverage Care, David Coull and Cathy Still.  The development is being managed by the main contractor, Castlemead Developments Ltd from Wrexham, who specialise in construction projects for the healthcare sector.
