Elvis at Coton Hill

ll shook up at Coton Hill

Proving you’re never too old to enjoy rock and roll, residents, families and friends at Coton Hill House care home in Shrewsbury enjoyed a star spangled performance from Karl Memphis from Telford, whose Elvis tribute act is gaining fame on both sides of the Atlantic.

From suspicious minds to all shook up, toes were tapping and many residents like Reg Tudor from Harlscott who has been living at Coton Hill House for six months, sang along whilst enjoying a pint of beer saying: “I always did like Elvis and this fella is good”.

Karl Memphis who has played at holiday resorts in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, didn’t disappoint his mainly elderly audience in Shrewsbury. Singing many of their favourite love songs made famous by Elvis like ‘love me tender’, many the ladies also received a special kiss from Karl.

The slim hips and smooth sounds from Karl Memphis appealed to all the ladies in the audience, as care home manager Mary Langdown who organised the event said: “I was expecting someone fat and fifty but Karl is the real deal, the ladies all love him, they really know how to enjoy themselves and I don’t know how we’re going to get them to go to bed tonight”.
