Coverage Care is particularly experienced in supporting people with memory loss and those who are prone to confusion, across our full range of settings, which are:

Residential Services
Our range of services is centred on our homes which provide full time residential and nursing care, along with respite and intermediate residential care for those requiring a shorter stay.  You can choose to stay with us for an indefinite period, or if you only require help for a short time, if for instance you have just left hospital and need some help to recover, or if you normal carer is going away on holiday, then we can accommodate you as well.  Our homes provide support for older people with a wide range of needs, including:

• Physical frailty
• Emotional and mental health needs
•  Physical disability and sensory difficulties

Day care Services
In addition, Coverage Care runs day services from selected homes throughout the county, and this service gives you an opportunity to regularly join a sociable group of people, and take part in organised leisure activities, and maybe enjoy an assisted bath in our specially adapted baths.  Also, our kitchen is open to you throughout the day, with meals served in the day centre and tea and coffee available all day.

Domicilary Care
Care at home to enable you to stay in your own if you wish is also available from our domiciliary care unit based at our care centre Barclay Gardens in Donington.  Please follow the link to explore the range of services available to you.

Community Meals
Coverage Care also provides a large number of freshly cooked meals to the communities that surround our locations, and whilst the majority are provided through Social Services and meals-on-wheels, we also offer a service to private clients in selected locations.  Please contact your nearest Coverage Care home for more information.

Extra Care

Coverage Care has started two Extra Care initiatives in the county in recent years, both in partnership with highly respected local housing associations.  The nature of Extra Care, where 24 hour care is provided for those in tenancy in a particular housing complex, means that this service is currently only available to tenants of Severnside Housing living at Heaths Houses in Shrewsbury, and tenants of Bromford Carinthia living in Barclay Gardens in Donington.  However, the Extra Care model of delivering focussed, high quality care directly into people’s homes when it is most needed is a pattern of service delivery that Coverage Care is very keen to develop, as it helps to keep older people independent and also relieves the strain on the Health Service by helping to avoid hospital admissions. 
The basic model provides a carer on call 24 hours a day for tenants within a housing complex, and this can mean that when an individual needs more care than normal (for instance, after a fall or an illness) then more care will be delivered to that person until they have recovered, and then when they are well again the care is reduced.  The carer is also available for regular care tasks for all individuals, and performs a social function as well, since the Extra Care service can arrange communal activities and parties to help people in the same housing complex mix.  The service is usually based around a communal area in a housing unit where everyone has their own front door, but can use the communal area to join with their fellow tenants to support each other, and have some fun as well.  On top of this, care is available at different levels depending on and individual’s vulnerability.  Coverage Care believes that this form of service delivery is a very important element of the way care services will develop.
