Residential Care Award for Tanya Brown
Tanya Brown from Lincoln Grange residential home, Telford has been awarded Carer of the Year in Residential Care at the Shropshire Care Awards. Over 250 guests joined compere for the evening, BBC Radio Shropshire Presenter Eric Smith with special guest Christine Hamilton in celebrating the second annual care awards organised by Shropshire Partners in Care.

Nominated by deputy manager Julie Roberts, Tanya from Woodside in Telford said, “I’m completely overwhelmed. The reason I started a career in care was because my Gran was so badly treated when she received care in Somerset, I just wanted to make sure that older people were being treated with the quality of life they deserve.”

Sponsor Debbie Jones from JLA laundry Ltd said, “The Shropshire Care Awards is a fantastic way to boost morale and reward the highly qualified carers we have working in the local sector. I am very proud to be involved in such a worthy cause.”

Tanya who has worked at Lincoln Grange for 10 years added, “I’m taking this back for everyone at our residential home as we provide quality care for everyone as part of a team.”

The Shropshire Care Awards celebrate and reward the hard work success and outstanding achievement of the 10,000 care staff, nurses and care managers working within the independent care community in Shropshire.
